DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
NITROFURAZONE is bactericidal for many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria causing disease in fresh water and marine fishes. This antibacterial is effective for control of Aeromonas, Vibrio and related species. Nitrofurazone is particularly useful for control of minor topical skin infections of marine fishes that have not become systemic (internal).

Made in U.S.A.

TREATMENT PROCEDURES AND DOSAGE:
BATH: Nitrofurazone should be used at a concentration of between 9 and 25 mg/L (34.0 - 94.6 mg/gal), depending on the severity of infection. Partial water changes must be made after each 24 hours, followed by retreatment. To achieve a concentration of 9 mg/L, add 1 gram to each 29.4 gallons of water to be treated or one (1) level teaspoon for each 180 gallons. Continue treatment for 5-7 days. If improvement is not noted within 3 days, discontinue treatment. For accuracy and reproducibility of results, this drug should be measured by weight. However, because of its relative safety in aquariums, it may be measured in teaspoonfuls.
ORAL: For systemic (internal) infections, Nitrofurazone can be added to food at 0.025 to 0.075 mg per gram of (total) fish body weight per day. To prepare food for a dosage of 0.050 mg/g of body weight. (1) estimate combined weight (in grams) of fishes to be treated, (2) estimate the total weight of food consumed each day by the fishes, (3) multiply the estimated total body weight by 0.050 mg to determine the total daily dosage (weight) of Nitrofurazone needed, and finally (5) multiply the calculated weight of food fed each day by 20 to calculate the total weight of food needed to carry the daily dosage of Nitrofurazone for a maximum of 20 days. Moisten the food with a small quantity of water and mix in the calculated amount of Nitrofurazone. Allow to dry before feeding. Feed in equal portions once a day for 15 - 20 days. Refrigerate medicated food. To prevent the condensation of moisture from the air, allow refrigerated food to warm to room temperature before opening its container.
