REVISED 10/7/2003
AquaVet,
a division of Novalek, Inc., was established in 1980 for
the development, production and sale of high quality professional
aquatic health products directly to non-food fish aquaculture
and fisheries, public aqauariums and zoos, universities, research
laboratories, government agencies, fish breeders, and pet aquarium
dealers, for their own use and not for resale. The advantages
for these users in utilizing AquaVet products are that
(1) they are in the best form for aquatic use, (2) no expense
has been spared in being sure that they are free of impurities
that would be detrimental in aquatic use, and (3) the instructions
fully describe how they are to be used for aquatic life, based
on the latest published scientific research.
Important Note: Medications used in aquatic treatments
are often originally manufactured in a wide range of forms that
may include industrial, veterinarian, and human specifications.
For example, malachite green is manufactured in forms for clothing
dyes, which can be toxic if used in treating fishes. The oxalate
form of malachite green is often preferred for non-food fish use
on salmonoid fishes, while the chloride form has been found to
be better for non-food aquarium and pond fishes. Different forms
of antibiotics are adequate for ingestion by humans and farm animals,
but are relatively insoluble in water and useless for a water
treatment for fish. Antibiotics for humans and farm animals often
have fillers diluting the medication that are detrimental when
used in water on fishes. AquaVet has sorted through these
problems to provide the right form of each medication and treatment
for aquatic use.
Most of AquaVet's medications are restricted by
U.S. federal and state statutes for use only on aquatic life that
are not to be used for human food. Many medications are prohibited
for sale in other countries, and U.S. statutes require that U.S.
providers of such products comply with the restrictions of other
countries. Therefore, the purchaser from AquaVet has to
agree to comply with these restrictions as well. New customers
are required to fill out a Remedies
Release Form, sign and return it to
AquaVet.
