PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Kordon's Aquarium Cleaner (on some products it is labeled as AC-8 Aquarium Cleanser) is a superior general purpose cleaner which was specifically developed for freshwater and marine aquarium and pond use. It can be used for cleaning the inside and outside of the aquarium or pond, for filters, rock, plastic plants, nets, gravel, and general clean-up. AC-8 Aquarium Cleanser has distinct advantages over any other type of cleaner since it was developed specifically for aquarium and pond cleaning. The product advantages are: (1) AC-8 contains no synthetic detergents or soaps. Many other cleaners which are not intended for aquarium and pond use may leave behind potentially harmful chemical residues. These residues are often toxic to the aquatic animals and plants. AC-8 is safe to use, because it does not contain any toxic compounds. (2) AC-8 may be used safely on most surfaces. (See Cautions). (3) Because of its nontoxic nature, AC-8 can be safely used while the water, fish, invertebrates, and plants remain in the aquarium or pond.

SPECIFICATIONS
Consists entirely of water soluble, nontoxic salts in crystalline powder form.
MODE OF ACTION
The chemical composition of AC-8 imparts the following properties to cleaning solutions solubilization of calcium, magnesium, iron and other related metals; chelation; sequestering; water softening detergency; dispersion, deflocculation; and mild alkalinity.
STABILITY
AC-8 Aquarium Cleanser is stable indefinitely when kept dry.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
AC-8 is not intended for use as an algaecide, disinfectant, or sterilizer. This product will not inhibit the growth of or kill bacteria, fungi, viruses or algae. AC-8 is intended for use as an aquarium cleaner for freshwater and marine aquariums and ponds.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
To Clean Aquariums: Sprinkle Cleaner on wet cloth, and wipe surface above, at, and below the waterline until clean. This may safely be done while the water, fish, invertebrates, and plants remain in the tank or pond. Resultant debris should be siphoned off. To clean aquarium or pond decorations (coral, rock, plastic plants, etc.): Sprinkle cleaner on the wet object and work over with fingers. A stiff brush is more effective in assisting the cleaning action. Rinse the object with clean water. Any residual cleaner remaining on the object is harmless.
To Clean Aquarium or Pond Decorations or Equipment: (coral, rock, plastic plants, nets, airstones, filters, etc) Mix 1 tablespoon (approximately 17 grams) of AC-8 per 8 fl oz (236 ml) of warm water. Soak articles overnight or until clean. Rinse well with fresh water and return to the aquarium.
To Clean Gravel: Place wet gravel in a bucket and sprinkle AC-8 on the gravel at the rate of 1 oz (28 gms) per 25 to 50 lbs of gravel. Work gravel thoroughly with hands. Rinse. Repeat until the rinse water is clear.
CAUTIONS
There are no special cautions required when using this product because of its nontoxic composition. Since its activity is slightly abrasive, it is not recommended to be used in cleaning live aquatic plants or acrylic plastic aquariums.
SPECIAL NOTES
When cleaning surfaces make sure that they are wet before application of the cleanser. Cleaning with AC-8 is best accomplished with the aid of cloth or brush. Some objects which are soft and pliable like plastic aquarium plants are best cleaned by sprinkling with AC-8 and rubbing with fingers.
