STANDARD DOSE AND CONCENTRATED DOSE FOR LIQUID TREATMENTS
FOR WATER CONDITIONERS AND DISEASE TREATMENTS
[Note: Standard Doses and Concentrated Standard
Doses of Kordon and AquaVet products can be made
directly into the aquarium or pond water in which
there are fishes and other aquatic life. The
only exception can be for Kordon AmQuel+, which
uses in its reaction 0.3-0.4 ppm = 0.3-0.4 mg/L)
oxygen in the water in the first five minutes or
less after the dosage is put in the water. Under
almost all circumstances this is of no concern,
particularly for outdoor ponds. However, if the
aquarium is way overcrowded, or is crowded and
has a waterfall type filter, extra aeration of
the water is needed during the first five minutes of use of Kordon AmQuel+.]

Note: Drops Per Liter Or Gallon
[Water Droppers, such as "eyedroppers" or "medicine droppers," vary in the size of their drops from different manufacturers. Therefore, this needs to be taken into consideration when using a dropper for dosing in less than 10-gallon containers. In general it has been found that the proper dose for 1 gallon of water when using medicine droppers from U.S. drugstores is nearer to requiring 10 drops per gallon for a proper dose. It may be found that "medicine droppers" that indicate on the side of the dispenser the amount of milliliters
that it disperses per drop will be more accurate, including the measurement of 0.5 ml per gallon.]
Drops may be difficult to calculate for some dropper dispensers that vary widely in their drop size from the norm. Therefore, careful consideration should be given to the dropper used and the size of each drop. Droppers can vary greatly in drop size, depending on their construction (whether glass or plastic, the size of opening at the tip, and viscosity of the liquid), varying from less than 0.05 to 2.0 milliliters per drop. Usually they are going to vary from 0.05-0.10 milliliters per drop.
The metric standard for a drop of pure water is 0.0648524 milliliter. (see http://www.conversion-metric.org/volume_conversion/drop_to_milliliter_conversion.php ). In general, the calculations for Kordon water conditioners and treatments, which have a slightly higher viscosity than pure water, have been indicated as being about 0.05 milliliters per drop -- or in dosage 10 drops (totaling 0.5 milliliter) per gallon of water. This can best be calculated by using a dropper that has printed graduations in milliliters on its cylinder. The Kordon products need not be exactly measured in dosages, providing leeway for increased or lesser amounts being dispensed, depending upon the circumstances.
Standard Doses can be made by using the caps on
the Kordon product bottles, for which the
Standard Dose is one teaspoonful (=5 ml) per 10
gallons (=37.85 liters) as follows:

[Note: the copper ion Kordon Copper-Tru treatment is the most critical
of the Kordon treatments. This treatment should be measured as exactly as practical.
The measurement requirements for the water conditioners (including
the Kordon Amquels, NovAquas, Fish Protectors, PolyAquas), and the herbal water treatments (Ich Attack, Prevent Ich, and Fungus Rid), are
not required to be exact.]
