Tera-Rep's Turtle Island provides a simple, safe floating platform for aquatic turtles that allows them to exit the water and bask as they would in their natural environment. The action of our floating island mimics the movement of a floating log, providing the variety of an ever changing edge to mount and climb. The random shape and manufacturing process used to create the Turtle Island makes each one unique... no two are exactly alike. Each medium Turtle Island measures approximately 11" to 13" long, 9" to 10" wide and 2" to 2.5" high without the palm plant. Palm plant comes secured into the foam island, ready to be gently raised, bent and arranged into the shape and style you prefer. Beautiful pebbles with naturally worn and rounded shapes are added for both visual interest and a texture alternative for resident turtles. The island's bonded natural sand coating offers excellent climbing traction and the correct surface to keep toenails in healthy condition. Turtles seem to prefer the sand-covered surface and can easily climb out of the water for much needed basking time. The Turtle Island not only provides a healthy basking area, but turtles also like to seek shade and a secure hiding spot by staying underneath it. Big enough to accomodate several turtles at once, and it is also suitable for other aquatic pets such as frogs and newts. Easily cleaned by rinsing thoroughly under running water.
